Designed for encoding within the most demanding environments, the Makito X4 Rugged delivers high-quality, low latency HEVC/H.265 and AVC/H.264 video from analog and digital sources with resolutions up to 3840x2160p60 (4K UHD). The Makito X4 Rugged offers the flexibility to encode video from a broad range of video sensors using SDI inputs, including 12G-SDI for 4K sources, and 3G-SDI for HD sources. Compliance with KLV metadata standards ensures that interoperability is achieved within an all-weather MIL-STD-810G/DO-160 appliance.

Features

• Flexible Video from SD to 4K: Ingest video from a broad range of sensors. Ruggedized connectors provide support for three analog composite inputs, four 3G-SDI inputs and one 12G-SDI 4K/UHD input making the Makito X4 Rugged highly versatile and truly future-proof.
• Ultra Low Latency, High Quality Streaming: High picture quality at very low bitrates and low latency makes the Makito X4 Rugged ideal for real-time situational awareness. Efficient HEVC encoding (50% bandwidth saving compared to H.264) reliably delivers video over constrained IP networks, line of sight (LOS) and satellite links.
• Maximum Processing Power: 8 encoding cores for H.264 and HEVC video at SD, HD and UHD resolutions. Multiple encodes can be applied to each input for dissemination to different downstream systems simultaneously, for instance providing one higher quality stream encoded at H264 for LOS links, and another using low bitrate HEVC for SATCOM.
• KLV Metadata: MISB-compliant Key-Length-Value (KLV) and Cursor-on-Target (CoT) metadata transport within an MPEG-2 transport stream ensures interoperability with downstream users. Flexible metadata filtering helps optimize picture quality over highly constrained networks.
• SRT: Assure pristine video quality, even when faced with packet loss, jitter, latency, and fluctuating bandwidth from unpredictable networks.
• Secure: Secure end-to-end unicast or multicast video distribution & AES 128/256 bit encryption, plus dual network interfaces, a secure operating system, and support for IPv6.
• Ruggedized and Fanless: Designed for demanding portable and spaceconstrained applications, ruggedized and fanless options stand up to high operating temperature environments.
